A tour of the portal from your customer's side: the visits they can see, the estimates they can approve and sign, and the requests and messages that come back to you.
Before you start:
- The customer needs portal access — see Giving Customers Portal Access.
- Customers only ever see the records you have shared with them.
How to Access
Your customer opens your Portal link and signs in with the link emailed to them. To see it yourself, use Customer Portal Actions → View portal on a customer's detail page.
It Wears Your Colours
The portal takes its colour from your company's brand colour, so customers see your business rather than ours. Your company name and logo sit at the top of every screen.
What the Portal Holds
The portal has three areas — Home, Visits and Estimates — plus Messages if your company uses in-app messaging. The customer's own details sit under the person icon in the top bar.
Customers cannot see or pay invoices in the portal at the moment. Send invoices the way you always have.
Visits
The portal opens on a home screen showing what is coming up. Visits lists the work orders you have shared, and opening one shows the date and time, the service provider assigned, and what the work covers.
Estimates
- The customer opens Estimates and picks one.
- They read the line items and the total.
- They draw their signature.
- They click Approve Estimate.
Result: The estimate is replaced by an approved panel showing the signature they drew, and the approval and signature are recorded against the estimate in FieldPromax.
If the customer wants something changed instead, they use Submit Change Request rather than approving.
Requesting Service
Customers can ask for work using Request Service. What they send arrives in your Service Requests list, where you turn it into a work order.
Messages and Account
Messages is one shared conversation between the customer and your business — not a separate thread per work order. Your team sees and answers it from the chat icon in the top bar of FieldPromax.
Account holds the customer's own contact details.
